Harris Helps Lead Team USA to 2-0 Start
Former Southeast running back Henry Harris ran a game-high 99 yards and scored two second-half touchdowns in Team USA's 61-0 rout of Australia. Harris then ran for 18 yards on three carries to help lift Team USA to a 48-7 win over Germany.

President Invites Faculty Nominations for Faculty Athletic Representative

Dr. Jim Champine, professor of biology, has served for the past several years as Southeast's Faculty Athletic Representative (FAR) to the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). Dr. Champine's tenure, including his service as a member of the Steering Committee for the NCAA Cycle Three Certification, has been very productive and resulted in some beneficial changes to the University's athletic programs.

Champine was appointed chair of the Department of Biology effective June 1, and due to his new assignment, he has asked to be relieved as the FAR. President Ken Dobbins will appoint a new representative by the start of the fall 2011 semester.

Any faculty member interested in being appointed as the next FAR can contact Champine to be briefed on the duties and rewards of the position. Regents Eliminate, Rename Programs, Approve Off-Site B.S. in Psychology
The Southeast Missouri State University Board of Regents today approved the elimination of two academic programs, the renaming of another and the off-site delivery of the bachelor of science degree in psychology at the University’s regional campuses and at the Perryville Higher Education Center.

Regents Approve $58.2 Million Budget to Fund Renovations at Southeast
The Southeast Missouri State University Board of Regents today approved the scope of and a $58.2 million project budget to fund renovations to Academic Hall, renovations to and an addition to Magill Hall, completion of major deferred maintenance and repair projects across the campus needed in the next three to five years and conversion of the campus power plant to natural gas fuel.
