<< BackBoard Extends Dobbins’ Contract Through June 2014
At their meeting on Tuesday, June 22, the
Southeast Missouri State University Board of Regents voted to extend the
contract for Kenneth W. Dobbins, who has served as president of the
University since July 1, 1999. The new contract, effective July 1,
2010, runs through June 30, 2014. There was no increase in salary.
Brad Bedell of Sikeston, Mo., president of the Board, said the new
contract was based on the Board’s assessment of the University’s
accomplishments and President Dobbins’ leadership, especially in the
light of the reduced state appropriations and budget reductions. Bedell
stated that, “President Dobbins has guided the institution through some
tough financial times in the past, and he possesses the ability to lead
Southeast through the anticipated difficult financial times ahead of
us.”
Dobbins stated, “I am very pleased that the Board has extended my
contract. I have enjoyed working with our Board and appreciate their
support and leadership. The campus will be faced with difficult
financial challenges, but we will still maintain high-quality academic
programs and will still be ‘The University of First Choice.’”
