New Leadership for Alumni Association Board of Directors
Boren, of Cape Girardeau, Mo., was elected earlier this summer by the
Southeast Missouri State University Alumni Association’s board of
directors to serve a two-year term as the board president. She had
previously served as the Alumni Association’s vice president and
succeeds Jeff Davis, ’94, of Shawnee, Kan., who completed a two-year
term as president of the board in June.
Boren received a Bachelor of Science in music education from Southeast
in 1971 and a Master of Music Education from Southeast in 1985 and is a
retired choral director. As an undergraduate, Boren was a member of the
University Choir, the Delta Delta Delta sorority and the Sigma Alpha
Iota honor society. She is a founding member of the Alumni
Association’s Redhawk Level membership group and is a member of the
University’s Copper Dome Society.
In addition to Boren’s election, the Alumni Association board of
directors also selected Beth Grapperhaus of O’Fallon, Ill., to serve as
the Alumni Association’s vice president. Grapperhaus received a Bachelor
of Arts from Southeast in 2006, majoring in mass communications. She
is employed as a sales representative with HITS Scanning Solutions in
St. Louis, Mo., and is currently the president of Southeast’s alumni
chapter in St. Louis. Her husband, Cole, graduated from Southeast’s
College of Education in 2007.
